I'm Vincenzo Grimaldi — an electrical engineer in Frankfurt working on the digitalisation of high-voltage rail infrastructure, and the builder of the Grimaldi Network. This is the personal surface: life, travel, and the long arc of the work, in plain words rather than datasheets.
By day I digitise high-voltage traction assets for German rail. Around that sits everything else: software and AI systems, hardware builds, two book manuscripts in progress, and the places in between. Each surface of the network holds one part of it — this one holds the person.
Frankfurt, the places in between, and what an engineer notices when the laptop is closed.
First posts being writtenLong-form work on energy systems and the future of compute — the ideas behind the engineering, argued at book length.
In revisionHow the projects, the books and the network came to be — the record, kept honestly, over the years.
Growing with the workDigitalisation of high-voltage railway traction assets in Frankfurt — IT/OT convergence and security governance for critical infrastructure.
Three domains, one identity, four languages — the portfolio, the hardware lab and this page, kept consistent and continuously shipped.
Two manuscripts in revision, on energy sovereignty and on where compute goes next — being rewritten the hard way: claim by claim.
The engineering portfolio: capability register, work registry, live thesis simulator.
